Source: Obituary from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana, now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.
Dated 1962

Mrs. Barbara Fowler, age 36, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Chase of Covington Rt. 2, died Sunday night, Feb. 11, at her home in Pomona, Calif. She had been ill following an operation last October. Death was attributed to cancer. Mrs. Fowler, the former Barbara Peterson, apparently was recuperating nicely from her operation until shortly before Christmas when her condition became worse. Mrs. Chase has been with her daughter since Jan. 2 despite the fact that she was wearing a cast for a broken leg. She was born in Champaign, Ill., and is survived by her husband, John, and two daughters, Nelda, age 18, and Treva, 13; two sisters, Winona in Pennsylvania and Teresa in Pomona, Calif., and one brother, Davey Peterson, with the U. S. Navy at Norfolk, Va., and presently aboard ship enroute to France. Funeral services were held today, Feb. 14, at Blackman's Funeral Home in Pomona. Interment was in a Pomona cemetery. Mrs. Chase is expected to return to her home in this vicinity next Sunday or Monday after which time the cast will be removed from her leg.  --typed by Walt W
